Job Training

ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE JOB TRAINING

Poverty is listed as a root cause of trafficking in almost every published study. It must be addressed in order for survivors to remain free. Those who return home without job options are often re-trafficked or stigmatized by their family and community.

Vocational Training, combined with life skills and financial literacy training, give women a pathway to become financially independent and less vulnerable to being exploited. They gain the power and agency to make choices for their own lives – often for the first time in their lives. Economic independence enables women to overcome stigma, move out of shelters, and support themselves and their children, breaking the cycle of poverty and intergenerational trafficking.

Every girl has unique goals, dreams and abilities, so we don’t offer a ‘one size fits all’ solution to vocational training and employment.  Instead, we provide vocational counseling to help girls identify their career ambitions, and support vocational training and job placement in a large variety of professions, from computers, to metalsmithing and jewelry design, beautician school, tailoring and textile printing, to baking, hospitality and cafe management.
